Darkness looming in the small ward, all the patients sleeping. The only doctor on shift, Doctor Sam Metcalf, or Doc as he is called is filing the patients medical records. They had began to pile up slowly, many were unexplained.
"Seems like you guys are all a mystery to the medical profession. Headaches, sickness and all that? This time of the year? And with this heat? You wanna help me out?" He says rather hopeful to the piles of documents sitting on his desk.
Sliding the files into the cabinet and sighing about all the unexplained occurences that have brought more patients to him these past years he thought of everything that had been going on in New Winchester that had been either hushed up or ignored.

Fai sighed as she pushed back her hair from her face and knocked lightly on the door of the doctors office, hopefully here she would be able to get some answers to her aunts death the whole thing was turning out to be not as simple as she had first thought.

Turning around to see a lonely woman in the office he smiled.
"Oh, don't tell me your another headache case, I can't cope with giveing out all these pills." He said laughing.
He sits behind his desk. "And how and I help you Miss Barton? Please, sit."

Fai smiled slowly and moved forward taking a seat.
"Headaches?" she looked at him quizzically then shook her head
"No nothing for me well not really, I was wondering what you could tell me about Doris?" She frowned as she said the name she had never called her aunt auntie, it seemed to much of an endearment for a woman she had practically hated.

Metcalf looked quizzed. "Your aunt? What do you want to know about her? I thought you knew everything you needed about her medical history? But... Um, ok.."
He spun in his chair and looked for her file. "Barton, Doris." He said as he found it. He spud back around looking through tthe file.
"Ok.. post mortem was inconclusive, your aunt appeared fit and healthy. All I can say was that old age took its toll on her. Nature works in mysterius ways."

Fai nodded listening to the doctor,
"So she had come to you feeling uill previously or anything? She just died? But she wasnt that old! 66 is so young for someone so fit and healthy surely?!" she sat back in her chair then leaned forward holding out her hand towards the folder,
"May I?" she asked indicatiing she wanted to read the folder herself

Doc sighed. "It's confidenti... what's the harm." He said sliding the file over to her.
He sat back in his chair and folded his arms. "Like most in this god-forsaken town, headaches, mild nausia, nothing much. She did complain about her eye alot, but she never wore her glasses as I told her too. She was strong willed. But..." He stoped, there was nothing to tell. Ms Barton had just died, nothing more, nothing less.

Fai smiled and took the folder
"Thanks" she glanced over it quickly then sighed the doc was right there was nothing to indicate that anything had caused the womans death apart from natural causes, then why oh why was she so sure there was something more to it? Slapping the folder closed she placed it on the desk and fixed her eyes on the Doctors face
"But....?" she shook her head
"Theres nothing more you can tell me is there?"

He smiled at her sadly unable to help her further. "My dear, a post-motem was conducted, it was inconclusive. There was nothing more I could find."
He picked up the file and glanced over it one more time. "And unless you want the body exumed - which I am not suggesting, and am not advising. There is nothing much I can find out. I can send my results to a friend in New York, but that will take several weeks. But, thats all i can think of, Fai."
He sighed. What else could there be? Mention was of the "mystery" of Barton's death, but nothing came of it when Doc pronouced it inconclusive.

Fai nodded then shook her head
"I have no intention of exhuming my aunt body, I just wanted to try and answer some mysterys before so I can get out of this dump!" she stood up pacing the room stopping in front of a window she sighed
"There seem to be a lot of things happening here at the moment Doc, things that no one seem s to have an explanation for?"

Doc nodded. "Yes Fai. There have always been 'strange' things happening here. Your best bet is to ignore them. Doris Barton died of natural causes. I am sorry, Fai, but that is my final, and official calling."
He stood up behind his desk. "Was there anything else? Anymore questions?"

Fai sighed and shook her head obviously Metcalf had made up his mind.
"No that was it, I guess I wont be returning home yet either that or I will have to leave with my questions unanswered!"

Doc laughed lightly at her attitude, she was obviously very determind.
"You know, young lady, some answers cannot be answered. This is a strange place to be living, alot of crazy camera men, silly reporters looking for E.T hiding in our backgardens. If you ask me, its all a lot of Men In Black rubbish, don't get me wrong, I 'aint tottaly arogant to the fact that there may be something out there..."
He pauses for a second to catch his breath.
"But the only life they will find out there in space if flora, no little green men, no little green men with big heads or huge black eyes neither. It's like a chinese whisper, somebody says a little something - 'I saw this strange plane last night, flashing lights', then someone over hears and adds a little something else - 'Yes, Mrs Eris saw a something in the sky last night, flashing an all, she's sure its not a plane!'"
He pauses again to wince at Fai.
"See what I mean? Little town, big rumors. Now, Fai, I will sent off for more results on your aunt, but i'm not promising anything, as I said, the post-mortem was inconclusive."
He sighed and gave her a smile, then clasped his hands together.
In his mind he knew he didn't deeply believe the speech he gave, there was something strange happening in New Winchester, but what no-body knew. He thought it was best left undiscovered, unnoticed. Life with it, take it with a pinch of salt.

Fai smiled slightly and nodded
"Thank you Doctor my aunt trusted you I suppose and for that I must respect you there arent many who could get the wily old cat on their side!" she laughed lightly then shook her head
"You will inform me if you hear anything?"

"You'll be the first to know."
